This motherboard is powered by the 13th/13th Gen Intel® Core™ processors and supports DR5 and PCIe x16 Gen 5 to ensure excellent computing performance. Powerful computing power for precise analysis
The Advantech AIMB-278 achieves an impressive 40% increase in performance over previous generation products by utilizing the 16-core i9-12900E. The hybrid architecture of the 12th Gen Intel® Core™ processors improves single-core performance and responsiveness for compute-intensive tasks while providing multithreading capabilities for concurrent background processes. With support for DDR5 at 4800 MHz and up to 64 GB capacity, the AIMB-278 improves computing performance in areas such as medical imaging and test equipment for high-speed digital designs with increased data rates and stability.
Various I/O extensions for outstanding data transfer speed
The AIMB-278 utilizes a 2.5GbE Ethernet interface for high-speed data transmission, e.g. to ensure fast data transfer and upload. The motherboard also offers 6 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports to improve data transfer efficiency “at the edge” with a transfer rate of up to 10Gbps. Support for M.2 M-Key with NVMe SSD enables a 25x increase in data transfer compared to SATA, improving read and write speeds and extending lifespan. At the same time, M.2 E-Key support enables wireless operation in unattended/dust-free working environments.
Integrated software services for remote management
The AIMB-278 supports the Ubuntu operating system for edge computing devices and the intelligent network software WISE-DeviceOn for device monitoring and preventive maintenance. This enables round-the-clock remote control, which reduces management costs for applications with automatic control of numerous machines. By using WISE-DeviceOn, the software can initiate restarts to resolve failures and errors in smart factory applications. By monitoring hardware, software and peripherals in real time, system failures can be prevented, increasing productivity and reducing time.
